I have been around computers since I was a child. There was a desktop at home from early on, and it started with games. Somewhere along the way the interesting part stopped being the games and became the working out, and that is what turned into engineering. Solving problems became the thing I went to.
Kairalitrails came to me as a freelance client. I built their first ERP and then their website, and the company ran on it for about a year. The business then grew past what that build and the manual process around it could carry, so they brought me in full time to take it further than either could.
So now I lead the technical team there. Kairalitrails sells curated travel packages, and the ERP follows a customer from the point of entry all the way through to the vendors at the destination. Every department has its own set of operations inside it. The work is taking the manual process each department was running on and turning it into automation, so the team moves faster, makes fewer mistakes, and can see what is happening across operations.
The ERP is the floor, not the ceiling. Once it is steady there is a lot more for the team to build on top of it.
I teach as well, one to one rather than to a room. Web development and DSA, with people at different starting points. I would be doing it anyway, so I am glad it counts as work.
The work I want is the difficult kind. A problem that is genuinely hard to solve is worth more than one that is not, because the client gets something that holds up and I come out of it able to take on the next harder one.
